Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of Grace Independent Baptist Church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. GIBC members are involved in a variety of ministries, each of which is headed by our pastor or one of the deacons.

Mission Outreach

GIBC is thrilled to be part of the spread of God’s kingdom around the world. We encourage all of our people to respond to God’s call for laborers, whether it means that they move to a foreign country or live and minister in our own community. This is accomplished by our weekly door-to-door visitation, as well as sending and supporting missionaries with our money and prayers.

GIBC members are actively involved in teaching Sunday School, children’s church and Saturday classes. Our members also have teaching opportunities during our Vacation Bible Schools in June and December.

God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music ministry. Some play their instruments. Others are involved in the choir. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of GIBC, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.

Ushers and Greeters

The usher team at GIBC fills an important role. They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, guiding traffic, helping visitors, answering questions, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free. The greeter team each week serves in welcoming visitors and making them feel at home. The usher and greeter team is a servant-hearted group of men and women whose ministry is integral to church life.

Church Camp

Each December, GIBC hosts a family camp. The week-long event involves games, a lot of preaching, great food, and various workshops. Different camp speakers are invited each year to minister to the church family. GIBC also regularly organizes special camps with other like-minded churches.

Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege! In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. All of our weekly sermons are uploaded to our website. We also maintain a Facebook and Twitter feed for additional church communication.

Food and Fellowship

Each week a refreshment team prepares food over which our church family can fellowship after the Sunday Morning Worship Service. For special occasions and after our Mandarin Evening Services, each family brings some food to share.

Every church needs a team of people to take care of the church building and do weekly clean-up. Our willing team does this on a weekly basis, as well as on church workdays each year.

Prayer Warriors

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. GIBC is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Sunday, prayer is an integral part of our Sunday School classes and Worship Services. Throughout the week, urgent prayer requests are communicated to members through a prayer chain. Each Wednesday, the church comes together for a special time of prayer and Bible study.
