Week 35 |
Hebrews 3:12-13 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. |

| Thy Word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against thee. (Psalm 119:11) |
We are committed to helping our people grow in grace with a church-wide Scripture memory programme called Girded With Truth. We believe in the importance of meditating and memorizing God's Word and that it is our armory for victory against the devil in spiritual battle. By being in the Word daily, we learn that God is great and by His transforming power we find our delight in Him alone and our sinful ways become repugnant to us. |
| Why Memorize Scripture? It is one of the most effective ways to "meditate" on the Word of God "day and night" (Joshua 1:8); to treasure it in our hearts that we might not sin against the Lord (Psalm 119:11); and to meditate on the Lord in the "night watches" (Psalm 63:6) so that we can regard all his ways (Psalm 119:15). Since "faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17), the memorized Word helps us in evangelism making the Word of truth readily available to build our own and others' faiths. It works on our hearts to cultivate Christ-like character. It helps us to resist temptation, and enhances prayer and worship. |
